Run Riot are punching the sky with excitement to be presenting in association with London Chessboxing their biggest ever International Tournament and after-party at the Scala on saturday, 10th september - and this year will feature an historical first: women contenders!

what is chessboxing you ask? exactly like it sounds: a hybrid sport combining the physical stamina of boxing with the mental stamina involved in chess. a match consists of up to eleven alternating rounds of boxing and chess - competitors win by either a knockout, achieving checkmate, by the judges' decision, or if their opponent's twelve minutes of chess time is exceeded.

PLATOON member and chessboxing pioneer Iepe Rubingh brought the concept to life, when he decided on alternating rounds of chess and boxing

motto of the fight:"fighting is done in the ring and wars are waged on the board"
