LONDON · the splendid scala nightclub in kings cross plays host to an incredible night of pawn-munching, face-punching action that must be seen to be believed.


this battle of brains and brawn was invented by Enki Bilal in his 1992 comic Froid Équateur. the hyrbid sport made the move into reality in 2003 by the Dutch artist Iepe Rubingh #17. this past summer PLATOON KUNSTHALLE Berlin hosted the chessboxing championships, so believe us when we say this isn't an event to miss! 

there's a a huge line-up including several brand new chessboxers and some lcb favorites – plus the long awaited return to the ring of Matt “Crazy Arms” Read the 6’7” bullet chess maestro.


the night includes a sensational middleweight headline bout between Bryan Woon from Singapore and the German master chessboxer Tim “CSI” Bendfeldt. also in action, Chris “The General” Levy, Andy Taylor, Frank Lee, Mark “The Hammer” Pilkington and Andy "the Rock” Costello, plus on the undercard two chessboxing debutantes; Jorge Crespo from Ecuador and Steve “The Devonian Devil” Philp.


adding to an incredible night of diversionary sporting action – we’ll have dj bushmanon decks and a sensational live cabaret to fill in the gaps during the interval.


the doors open at 7pm and the after party goes on until 3am.
