Fabio La Fauci creates inspirational artworks to delight the poor, who are surviving by collecting deposit bottles in Berlin.

People checking trashcans and looking for bottles is part of Berlin's urban image. These 'Pfandsammlers' or 'deposit collectors' spend days searching for empty beer and plastic bottles and return them to the supermarket to collect little deposit money.

Artist Fabio La Fauci, a member of our network, decided to do a social intervention: with added thoughts, quotes or poems the bottles become unique pieces and brighten the day of a Pfandsammler.

At PLATOON KUNSTHALLE Berlin he kicked-off his social intervention by creating over 50 bottles, worth a bit more than 8 cents. After putting the bottles on the street, all of them were gone in two hours and the messages were spread.
