PICTOPLASMA is a festival of contemporary charachter design with exhibitions, screenings, parties and crazy performances.
the festival opened its doors yesterday with a „Character Walk“ through 25 galleries and project spaces throughout Berlin Mitte. exhibiting the state-of the art projects in character design.

visitors came from all over the world and the city is totally buzzing! we´ve been following the festival since its early days and we were always impressed by its special flair.

earlier this year we met the organizers of the festival Lars #5466, Peter #5467 and Danielle #5468, and we had the great idea to present their concept to our network in South Korea, for a mutual exchange of artists and charachter designers. stay tuned on that one!

yeasterday we checked out the galleries and encountered characters riding monsters out of crumpled paper and robots hiding in cardboard boxes.
humans limited themselves to drink beer and to marvel at the crazy creatures around them.

one of our favourites- we highly recommend- were the characters of Jeremy Downer- exhibited in Torstraße 100. skipping though the artists website the work of Ben & Julia also caught my eye.

the galleries are all in short walking distance- go and meet the characters till 10th of April. (download the map)

for those of you who want to see characters in motion: check out the screenings schedule.
