comrades in dreams (germany, 2006, 100 min.)
this documentary film was made by german film director uli gaulke. he managed to create intimate portraits on film projectionists working at very special, unusual cinemas in wyoming (usa), quagadougou (burkina faso), india and a village in north korea. these four stories show people living in totally different places and circumstances who share the same dedication and passion of showing films to their audience. "the great quest for a little happiness is a constant leitmotif and reminds us that the best stories are not only told on screen." (www.flyingmoon.com)

sun-ju choi works as a curator and author in berlin. in 2007 and 2009 she organized the "asian film festival berlin" where she screened several north-korean films. currently, she is an associate researcher at the university of bonn focusing on korean film history.
