BERLIN · last friday we had the uttermost pleasure of hosting choi jeong hwas #3611 vernissage after-party at our yard. choi's exhibtion "in the mood for love" is on display at aando fine art gallery till november.

it was an exuberant get-together. it was also the first time for most of our members (and us) to see the PLATOON yard that colourful and ablaze with light.

the party kicked off at around 9pm with the revelation of our very own trash-bag installation (no! I don't have any idea where choi got his inspiration for this one from!). I do have to say, that I've never seen so many silk dresses and tailored suits amidst garbage bags!

inside the bar, choi's performance piece "think cabbage" (2009) was projected against one of the walls and guests were being bombarded accoustically with a mix from choi's brother, ranging anywhere from mozart's serenade #13, to korean pop and death metal.

it was a glorious night ( and went on til 2am which should be proof enough!).

a huge thank you goes out toaando fine artand wonkyung byun's wife who prepared the delicious korean finger food. to choi, of course, for initiating this evening, and for celebrating with us that night! to antje, shi-ne, wonkyung and boris (and all their helpers), who coordinated and installed the event.

we hope to repeat this very soon! until then, make sure youcheck it out for yourself.

"in the mood for love" is on until november 19th. (although judging by the impact the current weather has on the installation, I'd give this specific one not more then another week until it's disintegrated). so hurry!
