"black swan spaces are created outside of an urban planner's radar. they are unexpected, indeterminate, and have no official function or program. they are marginal territories, niches for resistance characters, destinations for those who refuse the totalitarian nature of planning and urban politics" (KUC)

the black swan issue is presented in a wonderful location: stucco on the 4 m ceilings, a huge mirror in the staircase, prostitutes and cheap video rental places downstairs. welcome to salon populaire.

the exhibition lasted only for a day and it was ultimately entertaining to see the look on the faces of new-comers. no, it was not a self-explanatory exhibition, and no, I didn't get it either. at the beginning that is, for then kuc came and made it all so much clearer.

focal point of the exhibition is the making of the booklet. there is no right or wrong way, in fact, there is no "one" way of how to construct it. the only object to function as an inspirational "guideline", as a form of "manual", is the table in front. cutters, cutting frames, staplers etc. are all ingraved/embedded into the surface of the table. you simply follow their lead and see what you come up with.

the exhibtion plays with your own creativity, your own flexible interpretation of a situation. it also attacks your sense of expectations - the question "is this all?" becomes quickly obsolete as you immerse yourself into the act of creation without any constraints.

I already liked case 2, and I'm eagerly looking forward to the continuation!
