time is running out for the Schmiede 2010 application!
every year since 2003, the SmithNetwork gathers in Hallein, Austria, to network, create and present their ideas.

about 140 international creatives from all sorts of backgrounds come together for 10 days in september, to inspire each other, present their projects and create new visions for the future.

Schmiede is like a bootcamp for creatives who want to see their visions find a place in reality.

the SmithNetwork moves along the borders of art, culture, handcraft and the creative industries. at Schmiede you will find people coming from several different disciplines such as: music, performance, architecture, guerrilla marketing, philosophy, programming, real time cinema, engineering, youth culture, law, history, and many diverse fields of art.

Schmiede takes place in an old salt refinery, a huge place of about 2000m2 with enough space to let ideas run free. the smiths provide the infrastructure and a network of specialists to support the whole creative process.

there are no hierachies at Schmiede, no teachers and no students. everyone is there to teach&learn from each other, to make new connections and find associates for future collaborations.

the SmithNetwork is in fact more like a community of free thinkers, a collective process involving real people who want to exchange their knowledge and contribute to the creation of new strategies to make ideas happen.

the festival ends with an exhibition where the Smiths present to the public what they produced during the ten days of collaboration.

if you want to take part to Schmiede10 you should definitely APPLY NOW!
